Big dogs mean even bigger fun

The St Bernard is a dog breed that will be forever be linked to Switzerland due to all the mountain rescue works the dogs have done over centuries. These dogs are adorable but also so big that most of us don’t have the space to keep one ourselves. Well now there is the option to take some of these magnificent dogs on a walk while at the same time experiencing the amazing mountain scenery of Champex-Lac in Valais. The walk itself takes approximately 45 minutes and if you wish to make it a family activity then children up to the age of 10 can even be pulled by the dogs on a sled. The walks will take place every weekend for the rest of February up until the 1st of March. This walk is going to take place high up in region known for its snowfall so keeping warm is essential. Why not bring your favourite hot drink with you in one of our Gemstone thermo flasks? The Gemstone is one of our most durable models and keeps drinks hot for hours due to its double walled vacuum insulation. It also features a handy mug inside the lid which makes it ideal for mountain walks.

Ride a world record holder

If you want to see high altitude views without having to do the walking, then maybe the take the funicular railway from Schwyz to Stoos which since 16 December 2017 has been the steepest funicular railway in the world. In terms of comfort and convenience this version of the funicular railway far surpasses the one it replaced a few years ago as the travel time has been bought down under 10 minutes and the new stations is directly in the middle of the village. A 14-year project from the planning stage to final build which is unique in the world due to its automatic level compensation which means you will stand horizontally for the whole ride. Again, as this activity takes place at high altitude and in the snow it is important to make sure you and your family are kept warm. One of the best ways to do that is to have a ready supply of hot drinks available which means that a SIGG Hot & Cold flask or bottle should be on your list.
