SOPHIA FOR CHILDREN
Sophia for Children is a non-profit dedicated to helping the most vulnerable of all social groups – children. The organization operates primarily in Kenya providing food, lodging, healthcare and education to children in need. The renovation of the water well at the Makarios Children’s Home is their latest mission and, we believe, a very worthy endeavor to support.
3-COUNTRY MARATHON
On October 9th 2022 our SIGG ‘Running for Water’ Team participated in the 3-Country- Marathon starting in Lindau and ran distances of 10.9 km to 21.097 km with the goal to collect money for the Sophia for Children Organization.
WE ACHIEVED OUR GOAL
We are proud to share that together with our partners we exceeded the assumed amount and managed to collect more than 20’000 EUR! We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all partners who supported our initiative and to the SIGG employees who took part in the 3-Country Marathon Run!
MAKARIOS CHILDREN’S HOME
The donation will help Sophia for Children to build a water well at the Makarios Children’s Home in Nyeri, Kenya, an orphanage under the care of the organization. The water well will provide the Children with both a green environment to enjoy and the nutrition they need to grow and thrive.
