GENERAL INFORMATION
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
The story of the iconic Traveller bottle begins in the 1960s when the bed bottle, Model 26 1661 (from which it takes its form), and classic screw cap (which still adorns the bottle today) were both developed. It was quickly discovered that these two elements complemented each other perfectly, and by the 1980s the Traveller design that we all know and love was available in stores as a single-color drinking bottle.
RESPECTING NATURE: A SWISS TRADITION
The Traveller bottle is a Swiss original, produced locally in Switzerland at our Frauenfeld facility to this day. The design has been refined and perfected through the years and we are proud to say that Traveller is made from a single piece of 100% recycled aluminium and has been certified climate neutral. Swiss culture had always had an enduring love and respect for the natural wonders of our world, and this is reflected in our carefully considered production methods. It’s standard procedure for every bottle to undergo strict quality checks to ensure they leave the production line in perfect condition.
A TRUE WORK OF ART
Traveller is more than just a beloved classic, it’s a work of art. The renowned design was officially added to the gallery of the Museum of Modern Art in 1993. The bottle now sits alongside other great artistic works in recognition of its exceptional blend of simplicity and function. MOMA chose Traveller to reflect the fact that art is about more than beauty alone, it can also be found in a well-crafted tool perfectly suited to its task.
